I was not very clear when I said "not very often" ... my plan is to move the boat about 6-8 times a year untill I retire then probably more or long term around the world even shipping it sometimes maybe.


I am from Montreal Canada, so I plan to trailer to Lake Champlain, The Great Lakes and a lot of places along the Atlantic from Canada Maritime provinces down to Maryland.

All these are not so far distance wise trailering (2 to 8 hours from closest to farthest) but it take 1 week to more than a month through canals, tugs and freighter traffic and a bunch of locks and lift bridges ... so mostly motoring and waiting ! Not my idea of sailing ...

So trailering to the closest Atlantic ramp, I cut the trip by 4-6 weeks going anywhere further away.

I guess that clarify why the trailering size, folding and weight is driving many aspect of my design.

I could also consider selling everything I own and moving to your part of the world :-) 
That would radically change my design requirements !
