Speed is not particularly  important if top sail speed were 10 to 12 knots that would be fine.  I'm  looking for a light seaworthy platform  to carry a large solar panel canopy  to drive an electric motor. An efficient easily driven boat is the key.  I very much enjoy gunk holing, rivers canals and such but I want the ability to make passages.  I don't need a lot of fancy amenities.  I want to be able to step the mast or masts by my self.  Wondering if the 40F might be a candidate with reduced masts and sails.  I really don't care how ugly the boat is I'm all about the utility

Wondering what folks think.
