I use 3 rails per 4' width, 4 per 8' and drop the mdf (usually use the melamine faced variety, but for the Bucket List lee hull mould, we used plain mdf and it worked well, once it was sealed.
There is a layer of thin plastic between the laminate and the mould, which extends to the tacky tape, but the tape attaches to the mould/table.
email Derek.  Ask him for the email of the guys in Tennessee.

re packing tape.  The adhesion of the tape is one issue, it also needs to be thin enough that when folded onto itself to make pleats along the bag, it seals without a gap.

Rob,

If you use full table lenght pieces of 3x1 then do you just deposit on these railings say 3/4" sheet of mdf (with HDF bonded on top) or is it better to take the time to build a thick more rigid table (like the foam cored thin mdf) ?

Sorry for my reply, I was under the impression that you always use a vac bag between the workpiece and the table also. Then do I need to put some mold release on the table ?

I have been looking for KSS workshop for some time now ... nothing.

Gardner,
Not sure where you are on the east cost ? If not too far, I could lend you a pair of hands for a weekend if you are interested ?
