I can't seem to get past that nice white sand beach I bet it's just lovely on that one hot sunny day you get each year..  :-)

So here's an idea.  First, To give you an idea of where I'm coming from, this is (one of) my current boat(s), a 16ft, 100kg trimaran in ply, designed for camping and beach hopping on the west coast of Scotland.

It will do about  11 or 12 knots before I start breaking things. Light, small, unstayed rigs.

I would like to be able to sleep on board, but don't want a boat to be any heavier, and lose the ability to lift or drag it up a beach easily.

Be great to go a bit faster, too.

So…

Take  the 20ft windward hull from Expeditionarry and make it the leeward hull. Possibly reduce the length to 18ft. Make a bit of a hump/bubble in the middle of the hull over the head ends of the bunk and the hatch. (clear hatch, plus portholes to avoid claustrophobia.) I reckon I want lying down headroom and width of about 800-850 for comfortable reading in bed, and headroom sitting on the end of the bunk

The weight of a stretched canvas bunk, and a sleeping bag doesn't add much to the leeward hull weight. Possibly a little porta potti  to pull out from under the bunk.

Make a 12 ft windward hull with an in hull open cockpit - maybe like the one recently designed for bucket list.

Storage for food, water, gear under seats and in ends of ww hull.

Fold down/ loose fit table between seats with clips/ holders for jetboil/stove/cookbox

A pram hood cuddy over the cockpit  in the ww hull and the hatch on the lee hull, which could be joined by a simple tunnel tent over the deck/tramp.

Mast(s) *off centre*  to the side of the lee hull, to keep the cabin clear.

So, a camper which can have a large deck tent, but still sleep2 under cover in cabin without pitching it.

Light enough to pull up the beach, but anchorable/moorable in sheltered waters

Would this be achievable at 100kg or there abouts, in vacuum/intelligent infusion?

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Adrian
