I am not sure if this comparison makes much sense from a design point of view but the Jacknife (JN) is of HP inspiration that is closest to a folding trimaran like those of Farrier. The HP Exhilarator range more like the Dragonfly boats.
Just to get a sense of proportions with the following production boats:
- the F-22 is of similar length as JN's ww hull and is quite comparable in other specs except the JN weighs about twice as much. Granted JN's interior and exterior usable space is better.
- the F-33 is of similar weight and quite comparable in other specs except that the JN carries about half the main & jib sail area. The interior layout of the F-32 seems better on first impression.
Of course, there are then beside price and availability the myriad other aspects and details that could make a difference depending on one's own use cases.
