The Kiteboat Systems set up is definitely a step forward, but as Rick points out, there are a lot more steps yet to make. The tipping point may be a kite that is designed for remote control. It will launch and fly stably on one line, will not require manual inflation and will have lightly loaded control surfaces to add power and control. Such kites exist, but are not yet as efficient as those for kite boarding.
The "experienced kiter" Rick refers to has bought the German Solitarry and fitted it out for kiting. There will be some photos and a video of it under kite on the web page in the next couple of days.
