Friend of mine just came back from the AC in Bermuda.
Went on this space ship in Bermuda and tried to fly 400 sf dynamic kite not enough wind but details are it generates 2 tonne of load IN 20 KNOTS and moves the 100 tonne SPACE SHIP  at 5 knots .

A video demonstrates every single step of preparation, starting, automatic flight and landing of the system.:

Rick, Your experiments will be interesting to follow as always. I am familiar with the two examples. A Maltese Falcon rig segment looks to me like a mast furling Bolger rig; the model proa much like a bi-directional Gibbon's rig. To make use of the inevitable mast I wonder if one could come close to the simplicity of furling jibs on each side of the mast by instead furling "mainsails" to stays parallel to each side of the mast (without the complexity of mast furling mainsail machinery)..In comparison with the Aerorig rig with this setup the mast would sadly prevent a slot between the sails but it would be easier to balance the combined CL with an offset in the angle between the booms (fixed in line for the Aerorig) and/or with furl extensions different in each sail reversing at each shunt the proportion of area's acting as jib and mainsail. Behind this desk of mine this looks very simple indeed ;-)
