Hi,

After some browsing around in a few forums and looking at Ian AItkins videos (looks really good),
I think it would be feasible to do an easier way of mast raising.
This is applicable to my kind of ideal boat, which would be something between BL and Elementarry camper.
If you had a folding system like Ian's then it should be possible to slot in your masts (two smaller masts for my preferred schooner rig), slot them in while the LW hull is angled over horizontally.
When you unfold, then this will just raise up the masts that are already slotted in place.

I remember seeing Rob do this with the Elementarry down on the beach where the whole boat was up on it's side (very light boat) and he could slide the mast in and then right the boat back down again.

I think this would be feasible for the smaller two schooner masts and for a not too big a size of boat.
Saves the need to use crane and block type arrangement.

Doug

PS. On the BL saga: shame to see the boat sacrificed for the good of science.
Is it possible to have a working boat in regular use while also having another boat that doea for a test bed?
