And, did you think the standard boat like in the lighter range - exped, BL, exhilar.

Would there be possibilty of ever seeing some of these adapt to foils?

That's fast going!

It would have been, but the hull construction was dubious where I screwed up the mould, plus it was not really anything new in terms of boat design.  ie same rig, beams, etc as Elementarry 15 years ago.  It was also a lot of boat for me to solo.  Not so much the sailing, which was easy, but getting it up and down the canal, working on it afloat and moving it around without an outboard.

The foiler has the latest thinking on side hung rudders (low drag), the triscarph (which is marginal at this length/weight, but should be a good learning experience) and the string supported unstayed rig, all of which are new.  Plus, foils are very weight concious.  The new set up eliminates a lot of weight.

Regardless, it is too late now!  The lee hull has been cut, the new lee hulls and the beam made and the first rudder mounting was installed yesterday.  Pictures when it has been cleaned up a bit.

Rob,

Would it be possible to finish off the mast and the bugs etc of BL. Get it going to near  full potential as it was orig designed.
Then once done that, then add new foils/rudders whathave you and change the boat to make it into the same boat but able to foil?
This would not only satisfy people who are interested and following the BL/Harryproa progress but also that actual version would actually appeal to a few people out there. I mean, they would be relatively normal people who wouldn't mind keeping their boat very light and minimalistic enough to be able to realistically use it as a foiling multihull.
Would this not be possible. I assume you are not envisioning the foiling idea to be for just a special racing model?
It seems realistic to be something down the track to try on the light boats like BL, expeditionary, El?

How much altering would there need to be?
Rudder blades changed at least.
