Jeff,

I am definetely with you in speculating windows are way too big,

Even for moderate climatic zone I am in, Northern Europe.

Reason being I have built a cabin ontop of my formerly open bridgedeck 35ft cat 2y ago,

Where windows are at least ~2x smaller proportionally to volume (or is it to sides area?),

Anyway my windows are overheating the cabin in no time while boat is stationary, draft through the cabin or not.

The only way for me to deal w/this is to somehow shade the windows, w/blinds or something.

From inside (my chooice at present) or outside.

Cabin is built in GF/25mm foam sandwitch, so walls/roof are providing very reasonable insulation as such.

So – I am highly sceptical the present C50/60 cabin windows will not overheat it anywhere the sun shines for more than an hour at a time..

No doubt though windows are they are on C50/60 will provide spectacular views of surroundings, to be enjoyed J

Best,

I've often thought the windows on cruising size harrys would be a nightmare of a greenhouse anywhere near the tropics.  How absurd would it be to oversize the coach roof and have the windows slant inward?  Somewhat like the setsail FPB windows.  The roof overhang would function as a built in visor for the windows.  Say on a C50 or C60.

It would most likely look ridiculous.  I've tried to sketch it out but my stick-man caliber artistry barely lets me visualize it, much less get it on paper.

I've thought this for a while now and usually brush it off as crazy but the idea keeps coming back.  Somebody talk me out of it?  Somebody sketch it out so we can make fun of it together?
