The windward overhang on the windward hull would have to be near enough above the highest wave height to not be impacted.  The leeward one can be almost in the water, as long as the hull rises on the wave, which it does unless going near enough straight into the wave.

So, it remains a toss up what would experience more slamming: a 57 cm overhang to windward or a 27 cm one to leeward of the windward hull.
