I can actually somewhat sadly say that i can relate to that boat materials list.
I built a 1960's? Plywood trimaran called a hartley sparkle.
I had no great experience or background in boats and boatbuilding but found it very enjoyable.
I saw Rob's two articles in the 2 magazines i was reading and realized things have advanced a long way from the older multihulls.
The plywood build and the designer Hartley seemed simpler and easier than trying to learn a new thing like fibreglassing. Also seemed cheapervto use wood. Well plywood is not that cheap.

But anyway, managec to finish and sell the tri, for a big loss in costs and have not really found anything else as interesting as an hp since.

Perhaps you are in a similar boat?
