1) There is nowhere to sail it from, except on the roof.
2) Access to the water is difficult.
3) It would be ugly unless it was very long.  
4) If you want more space, go longer and get better performance with it.  

The 24m cargo ferry is currently undergoing some mods to make it more condo like.  Pics when it is finished.

I searched the archives and found no discussion on why not to do a bridge deck.

Ya, floating condo. Perish the thought.

If one boxed from ww to lee, between the beams, you would have a huge interior space, and not that much more weight. Not that much more windage.

Mast could have a longer bury.

But what are the objections?
