Nothing I can add to  Mike, Doug and Jeff's comments.  Thanks.

None of the older commercially built cats fill the bill for me due to issues like bridge deck clearance, overall beam, and in many cases a solid bridge deck forward.  Of them, I could probably live with the Iroquois 30 best.
40 years ago I bought an Iroquois hull and decks, fitted them out and sailed from the UK to Greece and back.   Add a couple of passengers and their gear and the boat was a dog.    Never had slamming problems, or worried about the beam (13'), but rarely tacked without having to back the headsail.   Gybing in a breeze was scary, as was bearing away in a squall.    Sat out a F7-8 gale (waves were breaking over the boat) in the Bay of Biscay with the sails down, rudders and centreboards up.  Quite comfortable, but would not have been if we had to sail.  The low cabin was a pain back then, would be unacceptable now.

Used it as a test bed for a 9.2m 3 bladed wind turbine driving a 1m dia water prop (6 knots directly into 20 knots of breeze, scary as hell), then gave it to my father in law who put 2 x 30 hp outboards on it and cruised from fuel pump to fuel pump at 15 knots.  It has just been refurbished in Devon, UK.  Looks far better than when I had it.
