I like the solid glass suggestion, though there would be no point in infusing.   Resin is lighter than glass.  A person could make a small sheet of solid laminate the right thickness using CSM, and just saw pieces from it as needed....

Also, solid infused glass laminate, if it is strong enough.

Finally, aluminum might not be appropriate in salt water, or at all. Perhaps inbeding a stainless steel plate might be a better choice.
