Before Yahoo Groups, list servers like
E-Groups were about the same as you describe. They built up to
critical mass and sold to someone else. I went through several of
them with the lists I operate. If stability is what you are
looking for, there is Google Groups....... Google isn't going to
collapse anytime soon. Every word we write here or anywhere else
can be found there anyway ;-(
