Not sure about long stretches to existing hulls, but consider that the lee hull is the least work and could be replaced with one that is longer. which minimises the work, I dont know about 40-50ft but 45ft certainly seems realistic and gives you a faster boat in the adaption, but ideally you are missing out on what a 45ft design could give in terms of accommodation etc.

Then theres the problem of sail plan disposable load, lots of stuff to work out even for a hybrid
