Concrete technology is changing rapidly, but as far as I know, it is still soft (relative to stainless or copper) and needs reinforcing, both of which mitigate against it for reef scraping.

I had a thought about concrete.  Thought I might throw it in as a sacrificial coating and easy to locally source and work with.  No idea if it has merit.
