From experience on last boat i imzgined for next bigger one that getting a single drum (44gallon?) Would be worthwhile.

Certainly would.  It lasts a long time (10+ years) if it is kept in airtight containers in warmish locations.

Just used resin all ovef the place for everything. Just seemed to keep having to go and get another 24L tub and hope that that will be enough to finish.

Hate that feeling.

New II and also designs would not use as much. What size does the infusing resin come in?

Same.  200 kgs drums with 40 kgs of hardener.  Hardeners are fast and slow.    I have just bought a 200 kg drum plus hardener for $AUS2,260 for 238 kgs/216 litres, which is $AUS10.44 per litre, which is near enough the drum price of vinylester and not far off half the price most manufacturers charge.

The Raka price is $US1,395/$AUS1,885 for 30 gallons/114 litres = $US12.20/$AUS16.53 per litre, which is less than the major suppliers here.   Owly, do you have a spec sheet of the Raka epoxy, specifically the mixed viscosity of their resin and thin hardner?

the newer designs have less surface area?

About the same, but fewer joins, less fairing and about half as much resin in the laminate, so less material.

Hulls seem much narrower. Imagine the hulls will add to tracking straight compared to the round hull shapes, perhaps taking some load off the rudders.

A little narrower as they are lighter, but the width is mostly about the required payload.
