I have sailed on the wrong tack/shunt,. One rudder was out of action, can't remember reason, and sailed home with lw hull to ww, if you follow.
It felt weird and a bit more stressful, though probably nowhere near being actually dangerous as there was not much wind, only 10-12 knots maybe.
I am sure motoring, especially on a bigger boat would be no problems.

One question on the motoring using the dinghy as a pusher ... what about motor sailing on the "wrong" tack?
We would all love to sink the engine and be sailing purists, but realistically in light winds I motor sail often for schedule reasons.

Snice the pusher dingy only pushes one way .... assuming its OK to sail on the wrong tack in light to moderate air?
