I remember seeing some HP's, either planned or actually sailing with 2 outboards so that eithet can be used or even both at once to go sideways. This seems a little bit redundant, or more necessary only if there us some very awkward mooring required. Would take some arranging of controls and such.

When i sailed Sidecar, there was always a permanent "bow" from which i had the anchor ropes all set up to. If really needed, you could take the bridle back to the other end and moor that way round jnstead. But in practice it was not an issue to just alwaus anchor the one way. Incidentally it was with ww hull to left looking forward. So obviously any motor would get designed to point the same way as anvhor set up.
