For the best result the resin has to flow as long as possible to create an even resin/glass ratio over the whole surface. Depending on size and infusion strategy say 3-4 hours or so. By that time there will be a stable balance. Gelling any sooner will create an over saturated laminate at the feeding side where the vacuum pressure is much less than on the vacuum side. So a resin with a max of 200 mpa viscosity and a gel time of at least 8 hours is desirable for infusion. That also gives some more time for the "oh sh*t" happening. Pot life is not very interesting.
