Unlikely you will get a good finish from plastic, although the finish from packing tape is shiny, but the overlaps show, so maybe wide strips of it would work, but not as well as a polished surface.  Shiny epoxy is not much of a surface as it goes chalky in sunlight.  The usual solution is to lightly sand it, then plenty of coats of clear 2 pack polyurethane with uv inhibitors, with sanding every few coats.

Heat gun worked great. I put a little heat on the glass with a torch too, probably didn't need it and it popped off easy. Far less trouble than I thought it might be.

Blade cleaned glass up great. Will screw around again next week. This is amazing stuff. I was sure I had epoxied the stuff to glass permently.

Finish on the glass side was amazing. Can I get a shine like that with plastic sheet? The cheap PE plastic sheet side had a mat finish. Probably can buff or coat again to get a shine, but wonder if the proper nylon vac bag will give good finish.

Thanks again all.
