  Practical sailor just ran a test on mold releases, comparing Maguire's Mirror Glaze 8 Maximum Release wax to PVA mold release by Evercoat and AquaNet hair spray.

  Maguires won as the most consistent in terms of ease of release and bonding of the epoxy after wax removal.

  They recommend 2-3 coats, buffing between each coat, and at least one new coat for each use of the mold after the first.
