Copper/epoxy is different than copper-based paints, and is allowed
in many marinas where antifouling paints are banned.
The difference is in how they leach. Actual copper does not leach
into the environment at nearly the same rate as the cuprous oxide in
bottom paints.
CopperCoat will tell you all about it!
(exclamation point because their position would obviously be
biased; nonetheless, their product is allowed in many areas where
paints are not).

Aren't there any regulations against the use of copper in anti fouling paint on boats in the big oceans?
In the Baltic Sea it's not allowed to use copper based paints, due to the sensitive marine environment.
Rob, have you ever put copper powder in the house paint?
