As an ignorant landlubber, why cut the chain?

| on 12 NOV Kleen Breeze was found missing from the anchorage at Culatra. A diver was seen yesterday trying to recover her anchor. Apparrently the chain had been cut. Case has been reported to the Maritime Police.
