Hi the stone roses,

Well, so i had to put all sails and forces into tge one mast.
The mast had to be a lot taller, about 11m total height, compared to about 7.2m of schoonef masts.
Same amount of bury of mast into the hull, 1.2m ?
So yoh now have bigger loads on mast and hull.

Mast was hard to handle and raise to put in the socket tube in hull.
The boom piece anded up heavy and awkward to raise.

Tall mast was real bendy (sideways).

Difficult to get the tension on luff of jib.

Didnt like having the soft sail jib, much preferred fully battened mains.
Couldnt point upwind, suppose due to saggy luff.

Not as much weather helm on sails balance, so doesnt luff as easy when released sheets.
Harder to reef jib when wanting to reef.
If you dont reef jib then the weather helm of largeer main is no much as reefed main is now closer sixe to unreefed jib.

Dont like high masts and sails in general, like to get spread out lower over two masts.

Doug
