I found polars for Maltese Falcon:

It is capable of exceeding windspeed but about 5kts slower top speed than a Volvo 70.  The best VMG is indicated to be around 50 degrees but I have seen a racing track where it is close to 120 degrees between tracks.  That could be due to sea conditions being less than ideal in open water.

This is a Volvo 70 for comparison:

Note they have best VMG above 30 degrees in winds under 20kts and can achieve twice wind speed with wind less than 6kts.

This clip has more shunting of the model proa with one of the latter iterations of the hulls and rig.  Controlling the luff of the sail took a while to sort out.

Maltese Falcon is reasonably fast but that is more to do with length.  It is not an efficient sailing boat.  It tacks through something like 120 degrees.  Top speed under sail of 25kts is just a tad above hull speed of 23kts for an 88m vessel.
