| To get the space for a more or less permanent live aboard voyaging boat requires a much larger boat than would be called for with two equal hulls.

You said larger, you meant longer? A mono would get more space in a shorter hull.

The continued focus on size as a criteria seems stupid. Putting it above safety is entirely unresonable.

Certainly comparing like for like, size is a reasonable criteria. Given every criteria (safety, cost, etc.), to me, strongly favors the HP, then why build anything else?

|  I don't consider two equal hulls and a full width integrated bridge deck cabin "de-optimized" in any respect other than performance..... it's a matter of mission.

How did you miss the safety and cost and comfort de-optomizations of a cat?

No matter the mission, a HP wins, judged on any objective criteria you have brought up, or I know of. It only fails to meet your arbitrary and capricious length limit. Hell, one could probably do a 30' HP that met your length limit, and it would probably sail slow enough to make you happy.

You literally just had a cat sailor tell you, directly, how he almost lost his life and boat on a lazy sail one afternoon. Why do you not listen?

Yes, he implemented reasonable changes to make the boat safer. Yet you disregard the physics of the problems he stated as if they cannot apply to you. Your fix is to just go slow, as if problems only happen if you go fast.

| If the mission is speed the design decisions are different than if the mission is space, payload, comfort, and privacy.

Obviously we disagree. IMHO, HP have more comfort (length) and payload by default. They can be more spacious than basically any other design, if you disregard length as a limit and choose any other reasonable set of constraints.

Rob makes choices because he/everyone but you likes fast boats. If you take any current HP design and tweak it, (which rob is a big fan of), say raise the cabin walls at the beams and a few other simple tweaks in the direction of a condomaran, things only slow boat lovers would do, I assert, which means nothing, it will have a better interior space than a condomaran. And get all your other 'secondary' criteria like payload, and comfort. Not to mention saftey and cost.

I cannot figure out your privacy complaint. Its just weird. I ask you to detail it.
