I tried, on el camper, to place the aft rudder as far back as possible so as to have the effort of sails in front of the rudder.
It worked out ok.
Rudder was not too close to bows to be hit by waves, but seemed far enough back to balance sails.
But that was one rudder alone.
Waht then happens with a front ruddef down?
I would say, it may be ok if near to ends.
Maybe main problem if either rudder gats too close to middle of hull.
