Apologies for not answering questions for the last week or so.  Been building the mini cargo ferry hull, which is now complete.    7.2m/24' x 600mm/24" wide x 800mm/32" high, weighs 110 kgs, took 53 hours.  Next one will be a lot less time.   Some short cuts worked, some didn't.  Building a 7.2m hull in a 6m garage in the rain did not help much either.

Answers, etc:

Turn the hull into a trailer by strapping it to a set of wheels and strapping or bolting on a bow cone with a tow bar attached.  No idea of legality.  A 10m would need to be about 5m wide.

We have designed a camper unit which will go on any of the boats..   Did not have time to render it before Steinar left yesterday, but it has headroom, sitting space, double bunk and storage, plus storage in the hulls. Folds into a 200mm/8" high box on the deck.

Adjusting a particular design to make the hulls wider, longer or higher is not difficult, but there are some catches, so talk to me first, please.

Stepping unstayed masts is pretty easy with a gin pole.  Folding/telescoping is good as it can be done on the water, but is a heavier load to get on the trailer.  Demountable is lighter components, easier to build but more difficult to trailer launch/retrieve.

Foiling is not an option for cruising boats unless the foils can kick up in a collision and be lifted clear of the water to keep them clean and shiny.   They should also not need adjustments and be self levelling.  The ones I have been playing with are almost none of these, although the latest rudder mounts do show some promise.  More on this on the web page 'soon'.

Thanks for the Rosskoball reference.  I am an 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery' sort of guy, so it was good to see.  Be better if he was serious about it, though.

Interesting discussion on rm, water ballast, boards  and performance, thanks.  There is still lots to play with.  One of the reasons we did not get everything finished while Steinar was here was we were playing with a telescoping, partial wing rig.  Built a short 1/4 size model of Steinars rig and the wing part of the system worked well.

The other reason was the rudders.  Amazing how many times you can think,"that is the ultimate, there is nothing else to remove", then find an improvement.  Huge fun and the latest mounting is almost non existent.  We have a couple of bearing tests to do, then it should be available for all the boats.  Also got an easy build system for the blades with simple moulds, and no surface joins, so the leading and trailing edges can be perfect, and easily replaceable if dinged..
