I wouldn't consider an HP an ideal northern boat because of the split accommodations between the ww & lw hulls.  If you don't need access to the lw hull then it's less of an issue.


I'd also want to seriously beef up the bows & bottoms, and I'd be a bit worried about the rudders being so exposed to ice.  OTOH, those flat bottoms would sit nicely on top of the ice if you wanted to overwinter.  (I wouldn't!)

Regarding the rudders, I really *don't* know how the latest version is supposed to work.  Asymmetric or symmetric?  Bidirectional?  Inside or outside the lw hull?  Will there be one version, or several options (as with the masts)?  I'm looking forward to seeing the new system (hint, hint, Rob!).
