Before I chase this too far down the rabbit hole, I had an idea for folding.

Please critique this.

Looking at the folding EX40. It currently hinges fore and aft?
Imagine it hinging up and down.
Put 2 hinges per beam. One, say, at the edge of the cabin at 8' ish.
Fold the ww cabin 'under' so the hull outside is now down.
Choose the appropriate point to put the second hinge, per beam, to fold the lee hull under.
The outside edges of both hulls now can sit on the trailer.
Do not need anything to make the trailer wider to support the 12' width..

If you assume something like 8' x 3 @= 24’ beam. That should fit mikes width needs?
Boat height, folded will be ~8' plus beam bury, with a low trailer, height should be ok. Under 14' is the goal, or careful drive routing.

Should be kinda quick to unfold, because weight works for you after some point.

Eliminate a hinge per beam.

Depending on the launch, and if the masts float, may make setting the mast easier folded? Removing too?

Depending on the geometry, the tender stays in place?

Perhaps there is something obviously wrong with the idea?
