Balsa and ply are good for models gebnerally, but to assess whether sandwich panels will bend the way you want them to, solid glass is better.  Lay up a couple of layers of 200 gsm cloth and cut you shapes from that for small models.  A 1:10 model with infused 3mm/eighth inch foam is also a great way to see how Intelligent Infusion and the layout works.  Would also make a fun rc model if you built the whole thing

That's great to hear someone on this board has a Maslow and is happy with the quality now. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, mainly because of early inaccuracy issues and not knowing what more's needed to be invested monetarily in improvements.

I'm seriously interested in routing sheets of balsa for a test fit scale model to see if everything fits accurately enough, catch errors in my design, get some G-CODE skills,  and at the very least get to CNC full sized forms.

I don't know enough about the Maslow CNC system and what enhancements are needed. When I read up more on the Maslow system, I'll post additional questions. Is see you've got $1k in improvements. Please tell me about those.

Thanks.
