I am a fan of the longer and skinnier hulls in boats.
That is one main reason I like the HP's.

I usually look at one of the HP designs and then wonder if it would be possible to make with extending the length of hulls a bit.

I don't know what mathematics etc would say about the best length and beam. I would have thought a skinny as possible until some other factor enters in : like not strong enough and likely to break off at the bows or something.

The wave piercing qualities are high up on list of good points as well.

The LW hulls always seem about right, though I see the WW hulls as maybe being not skinny s they could be.

Obviously a boat like Kleen Breeze has been made and seemed to go OK.
Seems doable, but people will obviously prefer to go with another design perspective.

I didn't take it that way. I think it was just a funny line. Doug will speak for himself, but, I suggest it was not intended at you Bjorn, or to mock or hurt, in any way.

Doug has not struck me as mean or disparaging. At least, he seems more tolerant than me.

| But my questions was serious.

No one suggested it was not.

| I have read that the ideal is in the area of 14:1. That may have been the ideal given different constraints than what was used for the design of this boat though.

That's interesting. Do you have a source?
I would just ask Rick after searching a bit to sound intelligent.
