The lee hull width is a function of the overall weight and, as Doug points out, the strength etc.    It could be wider, but the laminate in the bottom and the deck would need to increase.  Neither is a problem, just costs and weighs more.  16:1 and 12:1 are both oft quoted 'best' l:b ratios, but the performance difference is minimal and added weight and wetted surface is not enough to justify it, imo.  
The toybox is vestigial.  No room in it for more than the anchor chain. Other 'stuff' goes under the seats at the end of the cockpit, in the tender or the lee hull. I have corrected the web page for this and the RM. Thanks.
