| You are right I should not have used the word "competing" but instead "put in perspective to".

Ah, like a ratio, or relationship? Compare and contrast?

| Best value is always with respect to the "mission".

Meh. I mean ya, but, an owner may have a mission, but, it seems, boats exist, perhaps, far longer than said owner, and said mission.

I mean, if a boat is lighter, cheaper, faster, and roomier, then it loses to 'missions' that require being heavy, expensive, slow, and cramped.. That may seem silly, but we have literally talked to a guy who wants a slow boat. I guess he could sail with an electric generator in the water.

My point here is we can objectively compare boat data and facts. Missions are soft things.

| If I want to sail within three months of ordering a tried and tested trailerable pretty fast boat that keeps its resale value then the Dragonfly makes sense.

That's interesting. I wonder if Rob could add a built for you price and build timeline, in addition to the plans materials and time budget, for a ready for pickup in AU version of his designs?

Rob, is that possible? Are you interested running such numbers for the Ex40?
But luc wants trailerable, so, the Ex40F? Can you do it for 93k€?

Resale is a game. I cannot find the post discussing a price comparison by Rob, suggesting that one could throw the boat away after, and it's still cheaper. But, perhaps, not in this case.

| The Tricat if I'm willing to wait at least double that time for less money and more questionable resale value ...

| I was exploring the smaller sizes because that is where the trimaran market is heading. I am not the market.

Sure. I have no idea about markets. Perhaps a Ex40F built and delivered might disturb said markets.

But, really, a bucket list day sailor with a camper deck thing would kick all the small tri ass.

| "I think I want to be able to have shelter while sailing the E25. I thought to sink the foot well of the camper pod into the ww hull, split the camper top and tip the top half to lee, and sail seated under it, but meh.."

| You are on to something although the weight distribution will work better on larger boats but may be the solution to go narrower for trailerable boats smaller than the EX40.

Meh. Bucklist would have made a great trailer sailor, if you dont mind putting parts together. I imagine cheaper than the Tri options. Rob said 40AU built and ready to sail, IIRC.

But I really like the idea of a tent on the deck, vs a glassed enclosure, for a trailer sailor. A solid flat panel base to fit the tent, with a foot well in the lee hull.

Perhaps a tent like this
https://www.coreequipment.com/products/4-person-instant-dome-tent for example.
With a big door facing the sails, camp chairs at the opening. Big cooler to lee, little one in the ww hull. Perhaps install a zipper in the floor, to get to the hull opening/footwell. Could sail a coast for quite a bit. Can fit a second tent for company at night/not sailing.

Is the 'parts put together' a non starter for the tri market?
